Dr. Holly Stockdale

Holly started a 3-year PDRA project in July 2025 as part of the EPSRC-SFI "MiRAcLe" project, taking on the considerable challenge of undertaking surface force apparatus (SFA) measurements to study Dengue viral protein interactions with lipid-droplet mimicking membranes.

Claiming to hail from the North!, Holly dances (Morris), sings (secretly), and paints (regularly), among other unspeakable activities. Prior to completing her MRes & PhD in the group, Holly did her BSc Chemistry at Kings College London in the sinful capital before finding civilization in Bristol. Holly is a aficionado for small-angle neutron scattering, securing several experiments at ILL and ISIS. During her postdoc so far, Holly has managed not to kill the spider plant on her desk that Oliver left behind...

PhD Research: Self=assembly of catechol-containing copolymers in nonpolar media

Co-supervised by Prof. Peter Dowding at Infineum, Holly's PhD project focused on understanding how the molecular architecture of catechol-containing polymers (bespoke-synthesized by Infineum) would affect their self-assembly in a nonpolar solvent, using SANS to probe the nanomorphology of exotic aggregates.
